Move with us

About Us

Move With Ella was born out of a desire to connect people to the immense capacity our bodies have to move.

Through awareness of our habits, our body ‘story’ and asking the question ‘what moves us’, we can discover the incredible capacity to move with joy, ease and presence.

Our Story

Founded by Ella Stanton-Warren, Move With Ella is from a place of curiosity for how the body moves and the relationship we take as human beings towards our daily habits, posture and the creative-athletic nature we all have within us.

As a human being firstly, Ella has a multi-faceted approach to how the body moves, from its technical form through to its symbiotic relationship to each person's lived experience, that ultimately allows us to connect with the world around us fully.

Having trained in Ballet, Contemporary and Modern Jazz, Ella has homed her understanding of alignment, strength and flexibility and conditioning for over 10 years. Her formal training culminates in a BA (hons) and MA in Dance Performance from The University of Chichester and a Diploma in Dance Education from the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dance.

Whilst dance training is the backbone of Ella’s practice, she expands her passion into postural alignment, mindful movement and ultimately enabling an individual to move freely through their life.

Through 1:1 coaching, workshops, retreats and research, Move With Ella is a place where movement is nurtured to bring joy, ease and presence into people’s lives.

Thank you for taking the time to find out a bit more about what we do and why we do it.

I am here because I love to move and have a passion for getting people moving better, whether in their day-to-day, as part of their training or simply out of the joy of expressing themselves. I have been lucky enough to move my body in so many ways throughout my life, and continue to be fascinated by the human experience that is shaped through the information we absorb as breathing, moving beings of immense creative, expressive and athletic capacity.

I went through a period of not knowing why I wanted to move, burnt out by an over-stimulated and under-rested body, which had trained so hard and wanted to express itself so readily. From a place of being in the ‘shadow’ of myself, I was gifted time and space in nature, surrounded by people who would become friends for life. This time softly brought me back to myself as I realised that movement was important to me because it is the way by which I connect to myself and the world around me. This sparked me to be here right now, writing to you.

Movement takes me through the woods, running and hiking, present with nature. Movement takes me to studios dancing and improvising, unfurling new parts of myself that connect to the music and breath in the moment. Movement brings me back to myself, in the softness of stretches or gentle alignment exercises, I find a ‘body knowledge’ that guides me to trust and accept myself for exactly as I am.
